Physical, emotional, social, spiritual and legal concerns are reviewed under different situations.Ê Coming to terms with our own issues on life and death enables us to apply our insight and knowledge to serve others, whether loved ones or people we tend in a professional capacity.
Various ways of manageing events in the setting of home, long-term care institution, hospice or hospital are also examined.Ê Informed choices may then be made for future care for oneself or loved ones. We can express choices for our own care in the form of a current Living Will.
There is sharing, group discussion and time for silent reflection. Questionnaires are used to open up the specific subjects, while ensuring the privacy of each participant. A 40-minute video is shown, and stories told to illustrate points. Handouts include copies of slides from power point presentations, a personal Living Will workbook, and summaries of material discussed.
